Understand your patterns.
Live with more intention.
Virtual therapy.
Nobody wakes up one morning and randomly decides to become anxious, avoid conflict, need everyone to like them, shut down when they're hurt, overthink every decision, or expect perfection from themselves.
We learn ways of getting through life. We adapt to our families, our experiences, our relationships, the things that hurt us, and the things we've learned to expect from the world.
A lot of those strategies made sense when we learned them. Some of them probably worked really well.
The problem is that our brains don't always get the memo when we don't need them anymore.
Therapy gives us a chance to slow all of that down and actually look at it:
Where did this come from?
What has it been doing for you?
And does it still make sense now?
Maybe it looks like…
You’re always trying to stay one step ahead.
You think through every possibility, replay conversations, prepare for things that may never happen, and have a hard time trusting that you'll be able to handle something if you don't see it coming.
You’re really good at taking care of everyone else.
You notice what people need. You keep the peace. You adjust. You try not to be difficult. And somewhere along the way, it got a lot harder to know what you need or to say it without feeling guilty.
You know something’s over, but your brain disagrees.
The relationship ended. The loss happened. You got out. You grew up. You understand what happened intellectually, but some part of you is still responding like it could happen again.
So, what do we actually do in therapy?
We talk. We get curious. We start noticing the things that keep happening.
We’ll look at where your patterns came from, what they’ve been doing for you, and whether they still make sense for the life you have now. Because understanding yourself is useful but the point isn’t just to become really good at explaining why you do what you do.
The point is having more choice.
Once you can recognize what’s happening while it’s happening, you have a better chance of deciding what you actually want to do instead of automatically doing what you’ve always done.
This is something we figure out together. I’ll ask questions, share what I’m noticing, help you connect some dots, and occasionally point out something you might not love hearing but probably need to consider. You don’t have to perform, say the right thing, or show up as the most put-together version of yourself. Sometimes the work is heavy. Sometimes we laugh. Most sessions are a little bit of both.
Life is going to life.
You don’t get to control everything that happens to you. Therapy isn’t going to change that.
But you can understand yourself well enough to have more choice in how you meet it.

Insurance confusing? We can figure that out.

Here
People are complicated, and so is the world we live in. None of us exists in a vacuum. We’re shaped by our families, cultures, communities, identities, experiences, and everything happening around us. I think part of being a good therapist is paying attention to all of that, staying curious, and continuing to learn about lives and experiences that are different from my own.
We don’t have to share the same background, beliefs, or way of seeing the world. My job is to understand yours. You can expect me to come into our conversations with curiosity, an open mind, kindness, and respect. Permission to bring your entire complicated self to therapy.
You don’t have to have it all figured out.
That’s kind of the point.
